Below I have laid out some common misconceptions with Nutrition and exercise. Here ares some myths with a factual backup.I think you will enjoy reading these.(I got them from the Body For life book.)
1)MYTH:Aerobics is better for shaping up than weight training.
Fact:To transform your physique you must also train with weights.
2)MYTH:If you exercise, it doesn't matter what you eat.
FACT:If you exercise, it matters even more what you eat.
3)MYTH:If women lift weight they will get "Bulky."
FACT:Resistance exercise helps women to create lean, toned bodies.
4)MYTH:Weight training is only for young athletes.
FACT:People of all ages should be weight training.
5)MYTH:Muscles grow while you are working out.
FACT:Muscles grow while you are recuperating and resting.
6)MYTH:To lose fat and get skinnier don't eat.
FACT:To build a lean healthy body you have to eat.
7)MYTH:Eating right means 3 square meals a day.
FACT:Eating 6 proportioned nutritious meals a day is the right way.
8)MYTH:People who overeat lack willpower.
FACT:Overeating is a natural instinct.
9)MYTH:High-carb, low-fat diet work best
FACT:People are becoming large from a "carb overdose."
10)MYTH:You have to count every calorie you eat.
FACT:You should count portion sizes, not calories
11)MYTH:Eating right means avoiding bad foods.
FACT:Eating right means focusing on consuming good foods.
12)MYTH:If you "eat right" you don't need to take supplements.
FACT:Studies show most people still need to take supplements.
13)MYTH:You need to drink water only if you are thirsty.
FACT:Your body needs more water than it is telling you.
14)MYTH:You have to eat "Perfectly" all the time
FACT: There is no such thing as eating "perfectly".
Success comes through perseverance not perfection. So if you stumble once in awhile put it behind you and resolve to push yourself harder from that point forward. And when those cravings hit, remember that nothing tastes as good as being in the best shape of your life! When you are in shape you have more energy, you are happier, healthier, and more successful through your confidence!Keep it up everyone!
