Its the final countdown.....

Scott Schwab
If you are familiar with the group Europe, this post will have more meaning to you. As we find the time slipping away from our challenge, it is important to remember some key things. If you did anything in this challenge, you did more then the average person. The goal is not perfection, it is process improvement. The process is the lifestyle. Any change worth making, usually requires a large change to the lifestyle.
The next challenge will be shortly after Thanksgiving. The purpose will be to help through the Holiday season. This time of year is statistically the highest time for weight gain. Knowing that, be prepared to say yes to living healthy. Avoid situations where you will eat like a water buffalo and just continue to say "just one more".
We are not talking about fat and skinny. We are talking about healthy and happy. Health comes in many sizes and we do not promote the one size fits all plan. However, each of us can be healthier and find the correct balance for our lives. I was talking to a man much more intelligent then I this weekend and he told me some of the most shocking facts about sugar and specifically diabetes. It is so intriguing and more importantly dangerous to consume sugar.
No matter how you started the challenge or how you have done these past six weeks, make the next two nearly perfect. Sacrifice the things that you know you should not have and eliminate the mentality of oh "just one more". It is not good for you and will end up being more than just one more. That same mentality creates weakness within your mind and a dependency for your body.
We have two weeks left. What can be accomplished in such a short time? The biggest key is consistency and follow-through. If you let yourself off on things that you commit to, it is nearly impossible to hold yourself accountable. So no matter how you have done, stick with it. Be happy that you made some progress, even if all you can say is that you tried. Let us know where we can help. If more follow up is what you need, as one challenger stated, than we can help with that.
The one thing that is impossible for us to do, is make the decision for you. The decision must come from you and empower you to follow through. It is not worth it if it is not hard. All of us have health objectives, and most of the time they are very different. That is why the goal setting and accountability are most important. Starting out, the most effective tool is your mind, NOT your body.

We have a chance these next two weeks to change our lives. Yes it is only two weeks, but it is a start for some and a finish for those in the challenge. That mental victory will play out in many ways and help for further development, growth, and accomplishments. Nothing is more important than your health. I know we have work, school, family, and community responsibilities. However, if you do not take care of yourself, you cannot take care of these other responsibilities.

Make it happen today, and then tomorrow, then for a week, and then for two weeks. Start small and go big. After three weeks it will be a habit and will be more difficult to break. After six months a person will most likely make it a lifestyle. Have a great day and lets get results; both mentally and physically.
